TriYoga is different from any other yoga I have experienced. It builds prana (life force, universal energy, chi), it doesn't deplete it. I feel energized after class, not exhausted. TriYoga is a moving meditation where I am able to become consciously aware of my body and spirit, my movements and the Beam of Light Within (I call it my Lotus Beam). To me, it brings the feminine flow to yoga; it brings in the seasons, the elements and music. All these things are important to me.
The word “yoga” translates “union.” TriYoga represents “union of body, mind and spirit” or "union of body, mind and breath." “Breath” and “spirit” are the same word in Sanskrit. Renata Dal Pont describes TriYoga in her flier for a TriYoga Holiday below:
"TriYoga fundamentals include relaxation-in-action, wave-like spinal movements and economy of motion. With the systematic approach and rhythmic pacing, students increase their knowledge of posture and flow, as well as strength, flexibility, endurance and breath control. One connects, flows and dissolves each posture into the next, moving only what needs to move in order to conserve energy.
"For those new to TriYoga and for those who want to strengthen their core alignments, [you] will learn the Basics which are the necessary foundation for all classes. Each level includes 5 series that gradually progress to the next level. Classes focus on natural alignment, freeing the hips and the spine.
"Through sustained awareness on all aspects of the practice, the movement of body, breath and mudra harmonize and the inner flow naturally emerges. For the universal energy to effortlessly flow, the trinity form needs to be balanced. Yoga practice harmonizes the trinity, allowing the energy to flow. This heightened energy flow awakens consciousness to greater levels of awareness."
