Yoga Teacher
One of my greatest joys in life was teaching yoga at the TriYoga Center in Santa Cruz. This is the style I learned at Spa Fitness where I went to yoga for the first time in 1989. It wasn't until I retired as a paralegal that I found the TriYoga Center, a hidden jewel of a sanctuary in one of the older neighbor-hoods behind the Pacific Garden Mall. I taught TriYoga Basics and Level 1 there from 2010-2017. I also taught classes at Corralitos Cultural Center, Live Oak Senior Center, New Brighton Middle School, Twin Lotus Center and Watsonville Community Hospital.
I am now teaching at the Weed Community Center, 161 East Lincoln Avenue, Weed. I was a student and substitute teacher here for several years before I took over leading the class in May of 2023. Classes are from 8:30am-9:30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
It's a TriYoga Basics class, mainly seniors, but anyone can come. Fees are set by WCC and are very reasonable! Members are free; nonmembers pay a $5 drop-in fee or can buy a punch card (5 for $20; 10 for $35). Many people qualify for free membership on their health insurance or through their employer. Check with Christy or Nancy in the office if you have questions about fees or membership.
